Civil Litigation

Civil litigation involved disputes dealing with the private relationships between individuals in society. This is an area of law that transcends various branches of law, however, litigation requires that the Parties engage in the Court’s process to settle and/or resolve the dispute.

Matters can be resolved through alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms before the Court is engaged or matters can be settled without a hearing upon agreement by the Parties. If engaged, we will also provide you with all the information for you to determine the best avenue going forward.

If matters proceed to Court, and it is more than $50,000 in value, it will be heard by the High Court, Civil Jurisdiction. Matters that are valued less than $50,000 will be heard before the Petty Civil Claims Court at the Magistrates’ Court.

We can be engaged to begin the process at the pre-action protocol stage and represent your interests from start to finish. However, persons seeking to retain Counsel for matters already in progress can Consult with us to determine whether an Attorney-at-law at the Chambers may be able to take on your matter that is already at an advanced stage. Our services not only include representation in Court, but also legal advice throughout the litigation process to ensure that you are properly informed on the options available to you in dealing with your  matter.
